A year of many 1st

One more day to 2009...
As I start counting down to bid goodbye to 2008 and welcoming 2009..
I start to review my 2008...

Its not hard to find that this is a year which I had my many 1st..

1st time studying in University..

1st time working in a Niche High Technology Market

1st time outstation for work.

1st time travelling to Beijing.

1st time Staying in a hotel alone.

1st time having a laptop which I can bring home for work.

1st time since a long time..to gain many encouragement and recognition for my hardwork and effort for work.

1st time since a long time...to gain appreciation for my effort and commitment in my work and my contribution to the company.

1st time since a long time...to give my sincere wishes to the man I love for his engagement, praying for his happiness each time I think of him. Each time it hurts, each time I pray harder for his happiness. I believe he will have endless blessing because I keep praying for him and his happiness every now and then when I am reminded of him. Hee..

There is a saying..if you can't have the happiness with him, then letting him go, wishing him happiness is another form of happiness and expression of love.

Wish that God sees my sincere heart and grant me a man who will truly love me and who deserve my love for him. A God-fearing man and one who will truly love me. If not, I will rather enjoy my happy singlehood now..enjoy all my freedom, esp to achieve all I want and do whatever I want.

My belief: Its better to be a happy single than to marry a wrong man or woman.

HAPPY 2009 everyone!!!!

New Year Resolution!!!

Few days ago, my bosses asked me what is/are my new year resolution for 2009?

I totally forgot about it.
I couldn't even remember what were my 2008 resolution...
Thinking really hard..
I think I have achieved most of them.
To study in Uni, to have a better job, to be a happy ME..
I guess..most of them came true...Praise the Lord Almighty!

What is my 2009 resolution?
Hmm...let me think...

Here are my 2009 New Year Resolution:
1) Continue to be a Happy me..
2) Let my joy and happiness influence people around me to be happy too..and that I can bear a good testimony and bring more people around me to know our Lord Almighty, the source of real Joy!
3) Enjoy my work, study, family and friends...
4) Continue to do well in work and study..
5) Start saving up for the future (tho its kind of late..but its better late than never right?) hee..
6) Get myself into a happy relationship if God allows my future life partner to appear before me..hee..
Oh..First thing first..He MUST be a Christian, God-fearing man and loves me.

Hmm..alot of resolutions right...??? Hee..
These are just resolutions or wishes..some can work hard for..some..just have to wait and see what is God's plan for me.
Whatever it is...One thing I know for sure..
Be it for 2008, 2009 or any other year...one thing never and will never change...I LOVE JESUS AND JESUS LOVES ME.

THANK U LORD FOR 2008! THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!!!
AMEN!

Now..perhaps its time for you to think, what are your new year resolutions, since Angeline has already shared hers.

说好的幸福呢 / 失落非主流

Bravo Cheryl :)
This is beautiful and touching!

Wonderful Boxing Day

This is the first time I am celebrating or enjoying Boxing Day 26th December.

We woke up at abut 7plus in the morning, intended to go to the beach to have family day. However, it was drizzing so we changed our plan.

Elder brother brought us out to Tiong Bharu for famous charco porriage.
This porriage was good indeed.
We then went to another coffeeshop nearby to get some nice nonya dessert to bring home.

After returning back to my elder brother's place, we had a short walk to the NTUC to do some groceries shopping.
Then went home played with little princess for a while and then I took a few hours nap.

At about 4plus I got ready to meet my colleague Daphne again..hee..cuz today we are going to our bosses home for Christmas BBQ.
Boss came to Pasir Ris MRT to fetch us to his place.

WOW..my bosses house is so beautiful. Its a 4 storey private house with shared basement carpark. Entering from the basement carpark slot was his basement with a small lifestyle room and a large beautiful fish pond and waterfall..WOW..its like a resort..so impressive. As we explore each leve, it brings me getting surprises. their 2 years old eldest son came running to us, welcoming us.

We took a walk to their swimming pool nearby. Tho its a shared swimming pool but since there is only 16 families in this private estate..its basically like their own. Having their own privacy. The swimming pool is not very big but its very impressive..like a resort style swimming pool. :) Bosses say we can go there to swim..hee..

Then it started to drizzle again..we ran back to their house again.
We waited awhile for the rain to stop and went upstair to the highest level, another romantic place on the roof top to do BBQ. Another resort style..
We BBQ, eat and had red wine....
The food was great..
BBQ was great..
The chatting session was great...
Bosses's dad came and joined us...
We talked about almost everything...we had a fun time...

At about 10.30pm...Bosses brought us to Downtown East (again..hee) for karaoke and bowling session...
We had great fun..singing and then bowling...(usually I dun bowl..due to my weak elbows..but since its a special occasion...why not..)

We bowled till about 3.30am..in the morning..
Bosses and his dad sent us back in different cars.

What a wonderful Boxing day! =)

A Wonderful Christmas!!!

After I return home on Christmas eve after my last minute shopping with my colleague, I reached home and started to do Christmas wrapping with my youngest brother for all the tiny Christmas present we bought for our Church Youth and students.

We had fun doing all the tiny wrapping...joking and laughing as we did the Christmas wrapping.. Finally we finished off at about 2.30am all the wrapping as well as for the wrapping for our family members.

Time to sleep.

There after we woke up about 8plus 9am and got ready to go to Zion Presbyterian Church- our Main Church ( we normally known as Mother Church as we have one Mother Church/HQ and ten chapels in Singapore and Malaysia.)

Met my mum at Zion Pres itself and went to the service together.
To my surprise, this year the church is filled with people..till an extend that no there many left standing for mins and hours. More than thousand over people attended this years combine service (of our chapels and Mother-church itself).

Perhaps this is the first time the Christmas service is held on 25th itself.
Thereafter we proceed to a Chinese restaurant where we had reserved 106 tables for thousands of us to have Christmas lunch together.

I rushed off to meet Daphne my colleague at Kbox for Karaoke at Downtown East in a cab. We had great time enjoying the singing session. Then we went to a nice place with nice sofa to have our dinner.

At about 7pm I rushed home again.
Meeting my siblings and Mum to go to my elder brother's place to have our christmas gift exchange and spend our time with little Princess Ting Ting.

We played with Tingting and had fun.
Tingting opens up her many presents..and got many frogs for her presents..haha..as now she is enjoying the Frog song -gu gua gu gua xiao qing hua.My youngest brother and I bought her cute little white rabbit and many finger puppets and a hand puppet.

Then we did our gifts exchanged.
We slept about 11plus that night I think.

A wonderful Christmas indeed. :)

A different Christmas eve

How did you spend this Christmas eve?

Usually Christmas eve is the busiest time for me. In fact the entire Christmas season (Dec). However, due to my studies, I got no time to take part in my church choir which I usually did in the past. Thus I did not participate in the Christmas performance nor caroling this year. Except for a quick practice performance by our Youth Fellowship for our chapel's Christmas celebration last sunday.

I had to work full-day this year Christmas Eve.
This is the first time that I am still working around 5pm..on Christmas eve.
My bosses are not christians plus, there are many things to be done on his Christmas eve too.

But our bosses are good, at least they gave us a long weekend. We can rest not only on 25th Dec (Christmas day) but also 26th Dec (Boxing day)..plus our usual Saturday and Sunday off..So its a long weekend for us.

After working till about 6pm..My collegue Daphne accompany me to Vivo City to do our last min Christmas shopping...Can you believe it? We are still doing last min Christmas shopping on Christmas eve. She buying a short pants for her hubby..and me..buying a short pants for my two brothers and a polo tshirt for my dad.

We had dinner in a restaurant in Vivocity becuz everywhere since crowded. But the dinner experience was bad becuz not only the restaurant cannot accept cards but only cash..the food order all got mixed up due to computer fault. We eneded up waiting nearly an hour for our food to come as the couples who came after us had their food and went off.

We were not happy with their attitude and it seems that they did not even apologise for making us wait that long. This is a terrible service in this food industry.

But I told my friend to remain calm. Because eventually we are the one who will suffer if we get angry, why let this incident spoilt our Christmas eve.
Finally our food came and we finished off the food and left. Continuing our Christmas shopping.

Conclusion: Never enter a cafe if there is no crowd or queue..there must be some very good reason behind it.

Merry Christmas!

Once lost is the present gain

This Christmas season is a unique Christmas for me.
Filled with surprises everyday!

I started to realised the logic behind all this.
If there is no sadness in the beginning, there probably will not be such great joy.
If there isn't lost in the beginning, there probably will not be gain.

This Christmas season, I received many surprises..
presents from people who I did not expect.
This filled me with great joy.
Esp when these presents are from people whom I once treasure and still treasure and thot I had lost.

Thus becuz of the sense of lost and sadness I used to suffer from..
The greater my present joy is.

I am thankful for everything in my life right now.
Thank YOu God for everything!

Most of all, Thank U for the birth of Jesus so as to become our saviour to save us from our sins.
Jesus is the best present for the world.

I sincerely pray that all my love ones will one day know the true meaning of Christmas as they celebrate Christmas, may they accept this wonderful present from God as well.

Blessed Christmas everyone!

Just a Moment

by Max Lucado

It all happened in a moment, a most remarkable moment.

As moments go, that one appeared no different than any other. If you could somehow pick it up off the timeline and examine it, it would look exactly like the ones that have passed while you have read these words. It came and it went. It was preceded and succeeded by others just like it. It was one of the countless moments that have marked time since eternity became measurable.

But in reality, that particular moment was like none other. For through that segment of time a spectacular thing occurred. God became a man. While the creatures of earth walked unaware, Divinity arrived. Heaven opened herself and placed her most precious one in a human womb.

The omnipotent, in one instant, made himself breakable. He who had been spirit became pierceable. He who was larger than the universe became an embryo. And he who sustains the world with a word chose to be dependent upon the nourishment of a young girl.

God as a fetus. Holiness sleeping in a womb. The creator of life being created.

God was given eyebrows, elbows, two kidneys, and a spleen. He stretched against the walls and floated in the amniotic fluids of his mother.

God had come near.

He came, not as a flash of light or as an unapproachable conqueror, but as one whose first cries were heard by a peasant girl and a sleepy carpenter. The hands that first held him were unmanicured, calloused, and dirty.

For thirty-three years he would feel everything you and I have ever felt. He felt weak. He grew weary. He was afraid of failure. He was susceptible to wooing women. He got colds, burped, and had body odor. His feelings got hurt. His feet got tired. And his head ached.

To think of Jesus in such a light is—well, it seems almost irreverent, doesn’t it? It’s not something we like to do; it’s uncomfortable. It is much easier to keep the humanity out of the incarnation. Clean the manure from around the manger. Wipe the sweat out of his eyes. Pretend he never snored or blew his nose or hit his thumb with a hammer.

He’s easier to stomach that way. There is something about keeping him divine that keeps him distant, packaged, predictable.

But don’t do it. For heaven’s sake, don’t. Let him be as human as he intended to be. Let him into the mire and muck of our world. For only if we let him in can he pull us out.

It all happened in a moment. In one moment … a most remarkable moment. The Word became flesh.

There will be another. The world will see another instantaneous transformation. You see, in becoming man, God made it possible for man to see God. When Jesus went home he left the back door open. As a result, “we will all be changed—in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye.” (1 Corinthians 15:51–52)

The first moment of transformation went unnoticed by the world. But you can bet your sweet September that the second one won’t. The next time you use the phrase “just a moment, … ” remember that’s all the time it will take to change this world.

Blessings Blessings Blessings

Thankful to the Lord for all the good happenings in my life.

I used to think that good things doesn't happen for long in my life.
However, this thought has change recently.
Esp since I started my new job.

Good things started to happen in my life, one after another.
I started to believe in rainbows nowadays.
All sadness was gone after the rain has stop and when the rainbow appears smiling at me.

I am blessed with wonderful family, good friends, good colleague and bosses.

Each time when I started to frown, this frown doesn't last long, because just before I realise I was frowning, God gave me surprises in my life again. Time after time, blessings seems to knock at my door, delivering smiles on my face again.

I am blessed indeed.
I am thankful to God for good understanding bosses who acknowledge efforts and rewards according.

Without the past bad experience in work, I probably wouldn't appreciate and treasure what was given to me now.

God gave me another surprise last nite. Tears almost rush out of my eyes but was quickly holded back by me.
Finally the day has come...a long silence wait tho..

I received an advance Christmas present from one of my friend in my previous study group. I was very touched when she came over during the break and passed me a sweet looking Christmas present, saying that it was for me. I nearly burst into tears.
Thank U for the present dear! And thank God for this day has come. Not for the present but rather for the thot from this friend. Its much precious than the present itself. Thanks! Appreciate it very much. This means a lot for me!

Now I start to believe, endless good things and blessings are happening in my life. What other good things will come my way?
Will my Mr Right come along too?

Am I being too greedy? Or am I being faithful (having the faith in the Lord that God will bless His children.)

Thank U Father in Heaven. You have given the best and many great Christmas present to me, esp this year. Thank U Lord Jesus Christ!
Amen!
